Blended Learning
Blended learning is combining a physical school space and usually face to face teaching and learning with online learning as well.
There are different options for blended learning. A learning programme needs to take into account what will suit your ākonga learning requirements.
We researched: A- la carte
A- la carte learning material is entirely online, there is an online teacher who can provide extra support if required. Learning can be done on location or off site. The physical learning learning environment provides experiences that accompanies the on-line material as well. Students choose their online learning.
Benefits and constraints: It has the potential for accelerated learning with choice of delivery but requires student to be self motivated.

There are other types of Blended Learning:
1. Rotation of Stations
provides students with less choice they have to do all of the stations
Lab rotation involves time in a computer lab
The Flipped classroom mostly delivers
learning material online and students participate in class tasks and in online learning tasks
4. Individual Rotation is tailored to suit a person
2. Flex model has mostly online material but students may redirect it to other types of learning. Kaiako: "provide face-to-face support on a flexible and adaptive as-needed basis through activities such as small-group instruction, group projects, and individual tutoring" This approach aligns closely with our Kaupapa Ako approach at Haeata Community Campus.
3. A la Carte Model (as above)
4. Enriched virtual model is all on-line with some face to face delivery which is not optional.
